To edit tall of the footage that i filmed, i used adobe premiere pro.
Below is screen shots taking you through the process in which i went to achieve my end result.
where i filmed in a flat colour profile i went through all of the clips balancing out the colour, making sure that each scene matched the same overall colour tone |
To make sure that my VO was not peaking, i used the loudness radar which gave me readings to let me know if the audio was too lour or too quite |
i used the compressor to compress my Vo to make sure that it didn't reach past a certain level, making it clip and distort |
The preset that i used was the Vocal preset |
On certain shots i used the RGB curves, to cruse the blacks slightly, increasing the contrast within the scene |
Inorder to achieve this transition i used after effects, i copied the clip from premier pro, and copied it straight into after effects
Using the pen tool i created a mask around the outside of the boxing bag
I then used switched on time vary option for that layer, and manually position my mask where i wanted it to be at specific points throughout the timeline |
One i had done that, i then clicked on subtract under the masks layers option so that it removed the footage that i did not want, only leaving the punching bag |
For my credits i used adobes title tool, using the roll crall option to making the rolling credits |

Because the person i was initially going to record lost his voice (due to the same chest virus i had!) unfortunately i was not able to use him, so because of this i decided to do the voice over myself.
Im not to fond of hearing myself, however, to record my VO's used the Zoom H4M recorder.
In order to try and get the best quality out of it, i used the pop shield that's provided with the device, i also went inside my walk in wardrobe and leaned against my wall, with a pillow to the side of me to affect the acoustics of the recording, dampening the possible reverb that i could get while recording.

Because we had short amount of time left, and we were not able to get out and film what we needed to capture, i searched around online for some royalte free stock footage that would help drive the narrative of the troll story
The website that i used was www.videoblock.com to which they're offering a 7 day subscription with your money back if you cancel within 7 days of subscribing to their services, which within that time period you can download as much footage as you want.
Inside this folder is a playlist of suggested videos that i picked out for the edit to help drive the narrative of the package that andy was presenting

For the Kids bullying the kid on the school bus, i thought that would be fitting to use considering that the package is first talking about bullying.
I was fortunate in finding footage of kids using mobile phone devices as that would help contribute towards what the script says, when it mentions about young children also being a victim of trolling.
Also with the man pushing buttons on his mobile phone, that again is just to use to help drive the story, being that trolling can happen on any communication platform.

I researched the laws to film in the general public, and it's not against the law to film random people so long as the footage is not used in any way to defame or sabotage their reputation, i.e. is i was doing a news item about obesity and i was to film someone without their consent to include them in on that show then i could be held liable. But for what ARMA news is covering a story on, which is social media, if we were to film people using their phones in the public, such as sitting at a cafe that would not be deemed illegal or defaming of that persons character.
The type of shots I'm looking to go for will be either out of focus shots, or shots primarily focusing the use of people on their handheld devices.
Where it's Dickens festival this weekend, there should be a lot of people out filming the various performances happening and also posting about it on social media.
Here's some information on the legislation regarding filming in public
