Todays lesson was a trailer workshop. We were set a task to pair up with another member of our class and create a 1 minute trailer for the short film called Soft by Simon Ellis. The aim of this workshop was for us to practice at preparing trailers.
The member of the class whom i paired up with was Ck..
At first we weren't to sure what we were going to do, as in how we would want the audience to view and react to the trailer, so we made a list of different genre'd trailers we could create.
Heres some of the ideas we jotted down:
Action packed, Romantic, Comedy, Thriller, Drama, Horror, Fast paced, Slow Paced.
After making the list, we decided to go ahead with an action packed fast paced trailer. We looked through youtube for 'Cinematic' 'Trailer' and 'Action packed' music, but didn't come across anything we liked so that kinda gave us writers block. Then for a laugh i suggested that we try the Benny Hill Theme tune. At first it started off as a joke, but then we kinda worked on the idea as it seemed really funny and also different to how you would imagine the film being.

While editing, we made sure that the scenes we chose suited specific parts of the theme tune, for example, when the protagonist is outside the shop playing keep up with the balloon hitting it with his head, the brass section of the theme tune comes in which makes the scene feel like a circus act.

The software we used to create the trailer was adobe premiere CS5.5
Here are some stills we took whilst editing.
