Following up on the research about
the trolling laws, I decided to go directly to the source to find out about the
laws surrounding trolling and the malicious communications act.
I contacted 101 and was put
through to a civilian advisor called Craig; whom gave me a lot of information
surrounding the malicious communications act, and told me search criteria’s to
enter in on the internet to pull up the results that I needed.
Following Craig's advice here's the results that i came up with:

Sentencing guidelines for malicious communications act
Current punishment for Malicious communications act 1988-1999-2003
Guidelines on prosecuting cases involving communications sent via social media
Postal Services Act 2000
The reason that i searched for both malicious communications act, and also the postal services act, is that i was thinking to do a contrast on old and new formats of trolling/malicious harassment, as trolling is the new hate mail!
Hopefully this research would help our story, and we'll be able to include this in on our Trolling news story package!.
