This video is pretty much the idea that we're aiming towards, however we're looking to have way more coverage, and a wider variety of shots, plus more contributors talking giving their story towards life as a stonemason.
What i like about this video is that it uses the observational mode of coverage, with the apprentice stonemason telling us his story, using the visuals to guide us through it.
However, i do think that it could of beed better if there was some music playing in the background.
The answers that the John Crawford (Stonemason apprentice) gave was really good, and i find really useful as i can use them to prepare my own questions for the stonemasons when i goto interview them.
Below, i've summarised a list of questions that i think might of been asked during the stonemason's apprentice video.
Questions asked:
How do you feel
working in the workshop?
What are you working
on at the moment?
What is the work your
doing, working towards?
How long does the work
take?
What do you enjoy
about doing this work?
Why do you feel you’ve
learnt a lot from this course?
How do you feel that
you’ve improved on this apprenticeship in comparison to when you first started?
What have you learnt
working in the workshop?
How does the workshop
keep open, what funds it?
How much support does
the workshop get to keep open?
Why did you decide to
become a stonemason?
What motivates you to
continue working as a stonemason?
At 29 seconds on the video when the stone is being lifted up, i want for us to get a similar shot, but using a go pro camera attached to the hook to give a birds eye first person perspective of what's happening.
Using the adhesive sticker holder for the GoPro i could attach it to the side of the metal hook to get a birds eye view |
