"BBC editor Garry Paton on how to manage your material, organise your sequence and keep your best footage in the final edit."
Whilst working during preproduction and doing additional research, i came across a very useful section of the BBC academy section of their website, in which it has a section on Post production. Under that section they have a video, plus information on building your edit, that provides really useful information towards editing footage, and how to speed up your workflow.
The useful information that i taken from the video plus website was:
- Log all of your rushes
- Start with a basic structure, only move on when you have your story right
- Pull best bits of interview into a sync pull, then you can structure that into a sync assembly
- Nail the sync in the structure, and then make it look pretty
