Because of the discussion i had with the promoter over using 'known' music for the footage, i decided to do some research into the copyright act to make sure that we would not run into any hinderances once the promotional video is completed and shared around on Facebook.
From the research i conducted i was able to draw a conclusion based on the results below, which in short states - if i am producing a commercial piece of work, or work with the intention of it being used to generate profit, then i must pay the licence holder of the created piece of work which i intend to use (unless the copyright has expired or the copyright holder has given me free permission). The only conditions which would not warrant a fee is if it is being used within the fair use policy for non profit.
Music
Due to the the results of the copyright law, i had to look to alternative sources for music - to which i contacted a few of my producer friends and asked if they were able to produce a track for the promotional video. Where i'm getting paid for the piece of work, i said to them that i would pay them for a royalty free licence to be able to use their music, to which they responded happily and agreed.
Text
Coincidentally while researching on copyright laws i thought that i'd look into typography and see the rules regarding that, as the fonts that i was looking to use had to of been created by someone. The website that i downloaded my Fonts from is stock font website which states on their policy that their fonts are "freeware or come under an open source license" which means that they can be used commercially without concern over copyright. http://www.fontpalace.com/privacy-policy/
